Sguardi Altrove is a non-profit cultural association founded in 1993 by Gabriella Guzzi and a group of women with a passion for cinema, with the aim of finding and promoting films and videos made by women. For the past 16 years, the association has been organising Sguardi Altrove International Women's Film Festival, focusing especially on films from different countries and cultures and promoting in particular the circulation of films that are less likely to have access to commercial venues. Over the past couple of years, the association has also began to produce cultural events during the whole year, to promote female creativity in all artistic fields: Sguardi Altrove plans and organises exhibitions and installations, film screenings, workshops and lectures. The association also operates in the field of art counselling, with a series of projects dedicated to psycho-emotional wellbeing through artistic languages.
